When will humanity transcend the dogmatic religious beliefs ruining the world? Even new age ideas of spirituality, astrology, and numerology have been turned into dogma. They've become the very religious practices most people are running away from.
This belief in a higher power is good. We should all be aware of things greater than our individual selves. But using belief in a higher power to judge people and life, is toxic and simply ignorant, misguided, and arrogant.
Why do you think you have the right to judge the world and its inhabitants? Who are you? The constant attempt to judge life,as if you’re qualified, is an attempt to play god. We don't have to judge a situation as right or wrong to understand it. Frequently, judgment of something as right or wrong becomes a barrier to understanding. Biasing yourself in one direction makes you less able to see the whole picture.
Isn’t the whole picture what we should aim for? To see all sides so we can make the smartest decisions?
Religious indoctrination is typically decided by birth. The family you were born into, the place you grow up, and the environments you were conditioned by. Using religion as a means of competition to decide who is more “right” therefore makes zero sense. Especially since religion is an extension of faith in things that cannot be proven.
You can observe excitement within a church service, but you can't prove it was the result of a specific god’s intervention. You can attribute it to a certain god, but you cannot prove that.
Singing, dancing, or chanting in religious services, whether Christian, Hindi, Islamic, or any other belief system, can raise the energy levels and vibrations of the people who participate. Similar happenings attributed to different gods due to different religious beliefs.
How much simpler would life be if people didn't put a name, face, and book on the source of powerful energy that people across cultures can feel? These instances all come from the same source, and it is man’s attempt to play god that has led to the downfall and division of the human race.
When I say “play god”, I mean attempts to explain the unexplainable. When men act as if they know without a shadow of a doubt their god is more real than another’s.
We are not qualified to discuss happenings that led to our existence. To be confident in making judgments from a place with no supporting evidence, this is a recipe for disaster. Especially when you try to impose those beliefs on others. How can we dismiss others as “wrong” because we’ve attached our identity to the religious system we’ve chosen?
You think you have the authority to impose your beliefs on them? You, a mere man or woman? Why does it make sense for them to see another human being as a source of authority on things that cannot be proven? Why would they allow someone on the same plane of existence the authority to dictate their life? We don’t have to answer to another human being, but people get so high on the drug of religion they feel justified in trying to play the role of a higher power in another person’s life. They’re buoyed by the confidence of the misguided people that preceded them and surround them.
Of course people will rebel against these attitudes. With the advent of technology, everyone feels they are just a step away from the riches and respect that will make them appear as authority figures. This increased visibility and faith in self, has undermined the idea we should blindly allow others to direct us and tell us what to do.
Tech has balanced the playing field in such a way that people see themselves as higher or equal authority to those who rely on hierarchical institutions which guaranteed them power in the past.
There is nothing inherently wrong with religion. It is the misuse of religion that has caused so much destruction in the world. If your religious practice is not making you a better, more compassionate person, what is the point? Do you use it to judge or do you use it to understand? If someone doesn’t choose a religion of their own volition, but is manipulated into it through force, shame, or fear, can you really say you saved them from anything? People should not let religion take away from their humanity, because the higher power put in a whole lot of work into populating the Earth. Any worship of a higher power, has to include respect for its creations, otherwise aren’t you saying you know better than it?
Technology shows people that the past’s roles don’t have to be applied in the present and has left those who grow up under constricting dogma, lost and confused. They either search for answers in other religions or forms of spirituality or they double down in their religion’s dogma, seeking to put boxes around all of life’s occurrences, in order to fit them into the dogmatic ideas their religion subscribes to.
