What does it mean to be free?
And why does my definition means everybody sees me…
That’s not freedom in all,
but being seen in all your glory has freedom involved.
A unique perspective seems free for us all,
but society forces freedom to come at a cost.
Freedom is the ultimate payday,
so i’m cutting the loss.
Don’t call me a boss.
But realize,
i am in charge.
The way i lead just different from yalls.
You tell,
i ask.
Your houses of glass…
see through ceilings you’re needing
to fight the ladders i grab.
Suffering succotash,
obsessed with another bag…
rather carry the community on my back.
Provide what they lack.
Rather than use them as a permanent ad.
Some see kids as permanent cash,
wonder why innocence is gone in a flash.
Riddle me that.
Supposed to back them,
but that just gives you places to stab.
Then wonder why the youth not trusting your ass.
Hollow words…
don’t want to listen to that.
Swallow hurt,
then dish it out if they last.
If they live…
i’ve seen old men who died in the past.
Thought they weathered the storm,
but adults norm of the scorn
took his life in a flash.
